Meet The Acupuncturist

Back & Neck Care Chiropractic of Vancouver is Proud to Announce Our New Acupuncturist

Acupuncturist Michael Prevec Meet Michael Prevec, L.Ac, EAMP

My journey to becoming an acupuncturist began in 2003 when I decided I needed to find a career that would give me more than just a paycheck. At the time, I seriously considering attending acupuncture school; however, I decided to go to Massage school as it seemed to be a great first step into the healing arts and would be a perfect segue into acupuncture. In 2004, I graduated from East West College of Healing Arts as a massage therapist. I discovered that working in a healing profession was exactly what I needed to do. The work gave me a great satisfaction that was missing from my life.

In 2005, I was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident, which kept me out of work for several months. Over the course of 18 months I received many different treatments which were all instrumental in helping me to heal; however, it was the acupuncture that really helped with my pain and resonated with me personally. Since I had already considered becoming an acupuncturist, I decided to become an acupuncturist.

In 2011, I graduated from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine with a Master’s Degree in acupuncture and oriental medicine. This was the most challenging thing I have ever experienced and I know I will spend the rest of my life learning to be a better healer.

My Philosophy!

My mission is to provide effective healthcare using Traditional Chinese medicine techniques including acupuncture, herbs, and nutrition in a healing, peaceful, and relaxing environment. I work to reduce pain, restore balance, and promote relaxation, while also encouraging patients to take charge of their healthcare.
